MATE (Marine Advanced Technology Education uses underwater robotics (Remotely Operated Vehicles or ROV's) as a way to get middle school, high school, and college students excited about science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). ROV's are also a great way to introduce engineering design, entrepreneurship, and project management to upper elementary, middle and high school students, as described in the Next Generation of Science Standards.
